Willman, 82, of Marion, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will
be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jack was born Feb. 12, 1936, the son of John and Gwen (Harrington) Willman, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict, from 1953 to 1956. Ten years from the date of the landing of Iwo Jima, Jack was a participant in a re-enactment. On Sept. 20, 1968, he was married to Claudette Pelz in Rock Island, Ill.
Jack owned and operated his own concrete business, Concrete Services, from 1977 to 2001, where he made long-lasting friendships with many of his customers. He enjoyed several hobbies, including stonework, bricking, traveling, gambling, and coffee with friends. Jack also enjoyed the company of his pet companions, Sophie, Bella and Presley.
Survivors include his wife, Claudette Willman; five children, Heidi Fields, Renee (Brad) Carey, Bret Monahan, Joe Monahan and Dawn Monahan; his special grandson, Daniel Willman; and 10 more grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Gary, Suzanne, Bob (Rosalie), Randy, Rick and Penny (Marty); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve.
The family would like to thank Christa, Kim and Kelly with Hospice of Mercy for their great care for Jack.
