Karen Jane (Pospisil) Perrin, 73, of Marion, passed away May 8, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital. Karen lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the past six months while fighting end stage COPD. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be
1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Karen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Phil Slaymaker of Ryan; son, Bob Perrin of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Brenee, Jaidyn Johnathin, Bostan, Caryn, Bishop, Hunter, Noah and Annabelle; and great-grandchildren, Cali, Cori, Isaias, Alaiya, Kalaiya and Ja'cion. Karen also is survived by her sisters, Barbara Joan Pospisil of Coggon and Christine (Olie) Laugeness of Moorhead, Minn.; brothers, Kenneth (Barbara Jean) Pospisil of Marion and Thomas (Victoria) Pospisil of West Des Moines; and nephews, nieces and many good friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; husband, Art; and grandson, Blake.
Karen graduated from high school in Lamont, Iowa, in 1960. She met and married Arthur Perrin on Oct. 31, 1964. Karen worked at Marion Hy-Vee on Highway 151 for 27 years and was a member of Marion American Legion Post 298 for many years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cowden and Katie Kavenaugh, ICU and Inpatient Hospice unit at St. Luke's for the awesome topnotch care given to Karen during her illness and time of need.
A memorial fund has been established.
