DOROTHY "DOT" LENWAY

Dorothy "Dot" R. Lenway, 93, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at University Park Nursing Home in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held in Cedar Rapids at a later date.
Dot was born Feb. 12, 1922, to Wilmer and Elsie Pontius Haworth. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. Dot was united in marriage to Alvin Lenway on Sept. 14, 1938. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 727, managed the Briarwood Apartments for many years, previously worked at Armstrong's department store and enjoyed spending time with family.
She is survived by three children, Fred of Nipomo, Calif., Carole Johnson of Cedar Rapids and Wilmer of Ankeny; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin; sisters, Viola and Mary; brother, Willard; and son, Daniel.
