Duane Arnold emergency siren a false alarm
Residents on the northeast side heard an emergency siren alerting to a possible emergency at Duane Arnold Energy Center in Palo at around 9:15 p.m. Friday.
Mike Goldberg, Linn County Emergency Management said the sirens malfunctioned and activated. He said there were no threats to public safety.
According to Duane Arnold spokesperson Renee Nelson, everything is fine at the plant.
Goldberg said officials are investigating why the sirens malfunctioned.
