Darlene Anne (Fuller) Gunn, formerly of Newton, passed away Friday July 1, 2016. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton on Friday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Darlene Anne Fuller was born May 7, 1929, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of James Fuller and Anna (Mosher) Fuller. Darlene graduated from Jesup High School in 1946. She attended beauty school and while working as a beautician in Vinton, met Boyd Gunn. They were united in marriage Oct. 6, 1951, in Jesup.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Brian; three daughters in infancy; and her two brothers, Charles and Lyle.
She is survived by two sons, David and Heather of California and Stephen and Susan (Donohoe) and their three children, Emily, Molly and Colin, of Cedar Rapids.
