Gazette opinion page is welcome public forum

As I was reading a recent opinion page, agreeing with some opinions and, of course, disagreeing with others, I was reminded how important these “public spaces” are to a free America.
Two quotes from one Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor and so much more, might sum up my thoughts on the matter:
“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.”
“ ... to remain silent and indifferent is the greatest sin of all ...”
Everyone isn't a PC hacker, a Tweeter or on Facebook. Thank you, Gazette, and your subscribers for providing this “free” space.
