Pearl Schuldt, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital. Per her wishes, she was cremated. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Pastor Brad Brown will officiate.
Pearl was born March 7, 1921, to William and Elvira Alpers on a farm in Benton County. On Dec. 16, 1945, she was joined in marriage to Lester Schuldt of Keystone. They farmed for 15 years and then moved to Van Horne. Pearl then was employed at Iowa Steel and Iron Works in Cedar Rapids. In 1987, they moved to Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Gary Schuldt of Tucson, Ariz., Ron (Nancy) Schuldt of Olive Branch, Miss., and Cynthia (Elwood) Garlock of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Shawn (Renee) Schuldt of Springfield, Va., Tiffany Schuldt of Cedar Rapids, Rebecca (Calvin) Arellano of Sidney, Neb., and Elyse Garlock of Cedar Rapids; and six great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester, and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lifeguard Air Ambulance or Concordia Lutheran Church.
