Charlotte Ann Freeman was born May 31, 1934, in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of Percy and Zelma Freeman. She moved to Iowa City in 1956 and in time began a 40 year career with The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, during which she served as division secretary for the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Charlotte was a long time member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She enjoyed animals, doing crossword puzzles, reading, listening to classical music, doing all sorts of needlework projects and was a devotee of the movies, “The Wizard of Oz” and “Gone with the Wind.” She was one that would help anyone and everyone, cheerfully, always saying “That's in my job description!”
Her family includes her daughter, Julia Harlow of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Percie Moore of McGregor; brother-in-law, Don Schaefer of Bettendorf; two nieces; four nephews; former husband, John Arthur Harlow of Deming, Wash.; sister-in-law, Jae Harlow Richards of Maple Falls, Wash.; and her dearest friend, Phyllis Jones of Iowa City.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Schaefer; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Moore.
