Letter: Donating to student science is a good thing

It's great to see students benefit from the recent gift by the Humanists of Linn County of $1,000 in science equipment to Roosevelt Middle School. With the budget crunch that schools face these days, I am sure this was a welcome contribution.
I especially like that this group allowed the teachers to choose what items would benefit the students the most. This cooperation between a local group and our school system is to be admired.
I know the Humanists have given similar science gifts to local schools in the past and I hope they and other groups will continue this tradition into the future.
