Sandra J. Brewer, 85, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at her daughter's home in Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tammy (Larry) Northup of Cedar Rapids and Sara (Jason) Wolf of Wisconsin; a son, Frank (Patricia) Fatino of California; and five brothers, Bill Kramer, Tom (Judy) Kramer, Noel (K.C.) Kramer, Monte (Margaret) Kramer and Kirk (Jane) Kramer. She also is survived by six grandchildren, Courtney (Joe Beadle) Brewer, Aaron (Nicole) Doubet, Patrick (Elizabeth Mason) Doubet, Matthew (Amber) Doubet and Olivia and Evan Wolf; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Sanford; a daughter, Susan Mervin; a beloved sister, Vayla Waddington; and a brother, Lanny Kramer.
Sandra was born on Feb. 14, 1933, in Edgewood, the daughter of Howard and Velma Nightwine Kramer. She married Robert L. Brewer on April 1, 1952, in Edgewood. Robert passed away in 2010.
Sandra was a clerk at the Hiawatha Post Office and retired from there after more than 23 years of service. She was a member of the Hiawatha Water Board and the Hiawatha Historical Committee.
Sandra was a lover of nature. She enjoyed gardening and watching the butterflies and birds. She and Robert also enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the U.S. Sandra forever will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to Camp Courageous.
