Decorah
Jean McCauley, 69, of Decorah, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 W. Main St., Decorah, with the Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding. Burial will be at St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery, Bluffton, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, and also after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Jean is survived by her husband, Lester McCauley, Decorah; three children, Kevin (Julie) McCauley, Center Point, Steve (Cathy) McCauley, Algona and Michelle (Steve) Knudtson, Whitehall, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Mason, Mitchell and Madison McCauley, Kelsie, Maggie, Michael and Molly McCauley and Dylan and Samuel Hess; one great-granddaughter, Jacie McCauley; brother, Keith (Mary) Garrett, La Crescent, Minn.; three sisters, Lyn (Ron) Lysne, Decorah, Joanne (Tom) Hovey, Decorah, and Joyce Garrett, Reno, Nev.; one sister-in-law, LaVonne (Alvin) Darling, Burr Oak; along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
