World full of people praising God

On July 20, a friend generously invited me to go with her to the Jones County Fair and listen to two Christian rock groups, Colton Dixon and Chris Tomlin.
On a beautiful summer evening, as I watched and listened to people - young families (including fathers), older people, young adults and people of different races singing and praising God with such joy I was struck by the idea that God really is alive in our world.
What a contrast to the 24-hour news cycle that has a way of stamping out hope.
I couldn't help but know that today somewhere in Israel, somewhere in Gaza and Palestine, somewhere in Afghanistan and the countries of Central America and all over our world there must be communities just like this praising, worshipping and praying together.
God is alive in our world. There is hope. Praise God!
