The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library is looking for a new street name for A Street between 15th and 16th Avenues SW. A contest for the new name kicks off Monday, Aug. 15.
“We thought it would be fun to have a new street name for the relocated expanded museum. A name that reflects our mission to the community and to the nation would be ideal,” said Gail Naughton, president/CEO of the museum and library.
There are a few simple requirements for the new street naming contest. It cannot duplicate the spelling or phonetic sound of any existing street name within the greater Cedar Rapids area; suggested name cannot be in a foreign language; and entries are due no later than Aug. 30. Ages five and up may enter.
Entry forms are available online at
www.NCSML.org or in the museum store. A selection will be made in September. The lucky winner will receive a one-year family membership to the museum and library along with a $100 Monumental Move gift package.
