Oppose inhumane immigrant treatment

I am writing to express my outrage about the ongoing issue with immigration.
The new executive order that President Donald Trump signed fixes nothing, it simply delays separation to when the parents of these children are prosecuted criminally or these families will be detained indefinitely with no due process. These children are abused and refused comfort. Caretakers have said they are prohibited from hugging children. The echoes of history are being heard and, if we do not act soon, we could be repeating our darkest days.
What is happening is inhumane. These children are being abused and their mental health irreparably damaged. They are being taken forcibly or through ruses: agents are telling parents they are taking their children to bathe, only never to return the children to their parents. There are reports of children wailing for days in these cells. Children as young as 7 months old are being separated from their parents.
We must stand against this cruel behavior. It is immoral and inhumane.
