Clausen, Donah Leah
Donah Leah Clausen, 71, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins, with the Rev. David Rempfer officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
A memorial fund has been established.
Donah was born Feb. 25, 1942, in Caledonia, Minn., the daughter of Don and Nira (Sadler) Harris, and graduated from Postville High School in 1960. On Aug. 21, 1965, she was united in marriage to George Clausen at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.
Donah worked as a beautician and barber in Atkins for several years and owned and operated Donah's Corner Cut in Newhall until her retirement. She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins and had served on the Atkins Library Board. She also enjoyed membership in several women's card clubs.
Donah is survived by her husband, George Clausen; her son, Larry Clausen, and her grandchildren, Lindsey and Logan Clausen, all of Atkins; her brothers, Jim (Marlene) Harris of Atlanta, Ga., and Richard (Kayla) Harris of Postville; and her sisters, Pam Livingood of Postville, Denise Small of Anoka, Minn., and Deb (Kevin) Schultz of Postville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
