Toneff, Chris James
Chris James Toneff, 34, of Dunkerton, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, from a brain tumor.
He was born Dec. 19, 1978, in Waterloo, son of Chris W. and Colleen Kay Sadler Toneff. He married Jennifer Taylor on Dec. 30, 2006, in Cedar Rapids.
Chris was employed at the PEC of John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, owned and operated Chris J. Toneff Repair and was a lifetime family farmer.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Delaney Marie Toneff and Reegan Rose Toneff, both at home; his parents of Dunkerton; a sister, Cindy (Dave) Pint of Jesup; a brother, Chad (Jessica) Toneff of Dunkerton; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Genevieve Sadler of Dunkerton; his father-in-law, David Taylor of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Brooke) Taylor of Marion; and five nieces and nephews, Dylan Thorn, Colin Taylor and Brooklyn and Kaden Pint and Calen Toneff.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, V. J. and Rose Toneff; and his mother-in-law, SuzAnne Taylor.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Barclay Township. Public visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, where there will be a 2:30 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue at the church for an hour before services on Monday.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Chris enjoyed family, farming, and the challenge of being a mechanic. He was known to do anything for everyone. He and his contagious smile will be missed, but not forgotten.
