Private school parents pay both taxes and tuition

In answer to Ann Egley's letter ('No taxpayer money for private schools,” April 2): People who send their kids to private schools pay tuition and also are taxpayers who support public education and the kids who go there.
Private schools usually have very high standards and we have educated many special needs children if it is possible to do so at our school. Since 1965 until last year, thousands of our dollars have gone to educating our five children and nine grandchildren in Cedar Rapids along with our tax dollars.
