A plea for public mask wearing

In response to the letter from Alvin Cummings of Walker ('Humans not intended to wear masks” Aug. 2).

Wearing masks are imperative for the safety of those who are in ill health especially. My husband had a heart transplant and

is immunosuppressed from transplant drugs. This opens his system to viruses of any kind, COVID and others. There is little

doctors could do for him and others within the transplant family since COVID drugs are unable to be used for them. The mask is worn as a preventive for those whose systems are unable to fight off COVID. Others exhale germs and transplant patients inhale them, a deadly combination.

You may be uncomfortable wearing a mask but think about the uncomfortable and agonizing death you could cause others. I beg folks to please use masks in public.
