Best Bet: TrekFest XXXIV: Khan!

Humans and aliens will coexist peacefully in the Future Birthplace of James T. Kirk, as Riverside rolls out the intergalactic carpet for the 34th time for TrekFest. Most of the two-day celebration will be staged in Hall Park, with kids' activities, recreation, food, music and 'Star Trek” themed contests, from trivia to costumes, as well as an outdoor showing of 'Star Trek: Into Darkness” on Friday night and a demolition derby ($10) and fireworks Saturday night. 'Star Trek” historians will speak on 'Khan” and Leonard Nimoy, and a 10 a.m. parade Saturday will blaze through town.
