Misti D. Johnson, 46, of North Liberty, formerly of Pierre, S.D., died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a six-year battle with cancer. Services celebrating Misti's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Kirley Hall in Hayes, S.D.

Misti Danell Jones was born April 21, 1969, in Pierre, S.D., the daughter of Danny D. Jones and Janis M. (Cass) Jones. She graduated from Stanley County High School in Fort Pierre, S.D., in 1987, and then attended National College of Business in the veterinary tech program receiving her associate's degree. She was united in marriage to Bruce A. Johnson on July 10, 1993, in Pierre, S.D. Misti was one who loved the outdoors, wildlife and from a very young age was a avid sportsman, winning numerous competitions in shooting.
Her family includes her husband, Bruce; daughter, Dallas Johnson; two stepchildren, Lynda and Jon Johnson; her mother, Janis Jones of Fort Pierre, S.D.; and siblings, Travis Jones of Pierre, S.D., Justin Jones and Julie Jones, both of Fort Pierre, S.D.
