Byron Buxton, Bert Blyleven highlight Twins Caravan during Hot Stove Banquet

Dec. 8, 2016 11:44 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced Thursday the main guests during the Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan stop at the Hot Stove Banquet are Twins outfielder Byron Buxton and Hall of Fame former Twins pitcher Bert Blyleven.
Blyleven also does television work for Twins broadcasts. Buxton broke out into a bonafide minor-league star in his half-season with the Kernels in 2013.
He played center field for the Minnesota Twins most of last season and seems to be on the verge of becoming a major league star. Twins radio broadcaster Kris Atteberry also will make the trip to C.R.
Tickets to the event, which is Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Newbo City Market are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Contact the Kernels (363-3887) or Sammy Brzostowski via e-mail at (sammy@kernels.com) for information.
This is the 21st Hot Stove Banquet.
