Fleck Sales expansion remains on schedule

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids beer distributor says an expansion project is moving toward completion later this fall.

Fleck Sales, 11125 High Life Ct. SW, is adding 30,000 square feet of space to its existing building constructed in 2006. The company said Hunter Construction of Cedar Rapids is on track to complete construction for a Nov. 1 move-in date.

'We've just had an explosion of different items from our brewer partners and don't have room to put it all,” said Dudley Fleck, president of Fleck Sales. 'We also plan to add several people to handle increased craft beer demand and an inventory shift from our West Burlington location to Cedar Rapids.”

In addition to added storage capability, Fleck Sales plans to add more space to enhance its recycling efforts. Fleck Sales processes more than 800,000 pounds of aluminum and more than 900,000 pounds of glass annually.

Shrink wrap, cardboard, office paper and pallets also are recycled.

Founded in 1954 by Keith Fleck, Fleck Sales is a wholesale distributor in 22 Iowa counties for many national breweries such as MillerCoors, Pabst, Boston Beer Co., New Belgium, Boulevard, Founders, Stone, Lagunitas, Heineken USA and Diageo-Guinness

The company also represents small and more regional breweries such as Peace Tree in Knoxville, Iowa, and Empyrean Brewing in Lincoln, Neb.
