Letter: Serving Hiawatha residents would be an honor
Rob Archibald
Nov. 5, 2017 2:30 am
Hello, my name is Rob Archibald and I am running for City Council in Hiawatha.
As a lifelong resident of the area, I have been involved in many different local organizations. I have served our community as a firefighter/paramedic since 2002 and was involved in the implementation of the Hiawatha community-based ambulance in 2005. More recently, I was a member of the Hiawatha Funfest planning committee and founded the Hiawatha Fireman's 5K in 2016.
I feel privileged to be raising my three beautiful daughters with my wife in Hiawatha. Raising a young family, I feel a vested interest in making Hiawatha a great place to live for the years to come - to grow a family, to grow a business, and to have fun.
As a City Council member, I will have a residents first approach when making decisions. City government is a major player in residents' day-to-day lives and decisions made should come from their input. Additionally, I will work to support and grow all of the many companies that call Hiawatha home. I will continue to make public safety and city services a priority.
I enjoy talking to and working with others, and will bring my skills of building relationships to the Hiawatha City Council. I look forward to including each and every resident in the discussions about what is important as Hiawatha moves forward. Serving the citizens of Hiawatha would be an honor and a privilege.
I hope you will vote for me Tuesday.
Rob Archibald
