Schultz, Bette
Bette Schultz, 83, formerly of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at Heritage Nursing Home following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Brenda Peconge. Friends may visit Wednesday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Bette is survived by one brother, Denton (Joan) Schultz of Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Margaret Schultz of Cedar Rapids, Marilyn Benishek of Belle Plaine, Ona (Lawrence) Danker of Newhall and Shirley (Raymond) Larsen of Grinnell; and many nieces and nephews.
Bette is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bill and John Schultz.
Bette was born March 24, 1926, in Bryant, S.D., the daughter of William and Emma Pauls Schultz. She worked as a contract writer for the United Sates Government.
Bette loved the Chicago Cubs and gardening. She was a member of the Bosom Buddies, a cancer survivor group in Florida.
Bette's family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Nursing Home and Hospice Compassus for all of their wonderful care.
