Letter: Throwing tantrum isn’t model adult behavior

It's remarkable what many of our schools and colleges accept as normal behavior.
In recent weeks some organizations that mentor our young people have accepted and sometimes even encouraged or facilitated immature behavior. They condone pouty tears or angry outbursts when the students have experienced disappointment.
In raising our children, responsible parents and mentors model appropriate and constructive behavior. They also correct their children whose response to disappointment is immature and inappropriate. Temper tantrums or pouting sessions are flagged as non-productive.
There are lots of disappointments in life. Adults must face them in mature ways. Imagine throwing a temper tantrum or withdrawing to a cry room if you are not chosen to fill a job that you really wanted.
Society has a serious responsibility to raise children to become responsible adults not perpetual children.
