Bob Nibeck, 61, of Marion, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
There will be no services. Bob was cremated and graveside services will be held at a later date.
Bob was born Oct. 30, 1956, to Robert John and Barbara Ann (Campbell) Nibeck. Bob had an intellectual disability and attended schools in Marion and Cedar Rapids. In Bob's younger years, he helped several farmers and later worked for the city of Cedar Rapids sanitation department until retiring.
Bob loved his bowling league and bocce ball. He also enjoyed fishing, attending Marion High School football games, races at Hawkeye Downs, tractor pulls and going to the Truckers Jamboree at Walcott with friends.
Survivors include his siblings, Janet Boot (Steve) of Albert Lea, Minn., Dawn Edmonds and Jerry Nibeck, both of Marion; his nephew, Jonathan Nibeck of Albert Lea, Minn.; his special aunt, Connie Lochner of Marion, whom he trusted for help and guidance; aunts, Annamae Baker of Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Suzanne Campbell of Marion; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara Nibeck; his grandparents; brother-in-law; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made in Bob's name to Special Olympics of Iowa, Camp Courageous, or the donor's choice.
Bob was loved and will be missed by many.
