West Des Moines company opens Iowa City office

A West Des Moines-based human resources technology company has expanded to the Corridor.

Businessolver, which makes software for the administration of employee benefits, opened an office Monday in Iowa City. Seventy-four employees work in the 18,000-square-foot space, but the company said it has room to expand.

'Although I did attend Iowa State University, I can't think of a better reason to put my alumni loyalty aside than to welcome new talented and passionate Solvers to Iowa City,” Businessolver CEO and President Jon Shanahan said in a news release.

Employees at the office, 2834 Northgate Dr., will have access to free catered meals, open lounge areas and a study hall area designed for student interns, the company said.

The Iowa City office is the first Iowa office outside Businessolver's headquarters. It also has offices has in Denver, Charlotte, S.C., Seattle and the Chicago area. The company has more than 700 employees, two-thirds of whom work in West Des Moines.
