Man taken to hospital after car hits bicycle

A man was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Clinics after a car ran into him while he was riding a bike Wednesday.
Emergency responders were called to the corner of Benton Street and Capitol Street in Iowa City around 10:30 a.m. for a report of car versus bicycle.
Upon arrival, police discovered a woman, whose name and age could not be verified, was heading south on Capitol and attempted to turn west onto Benton when she ran into the bicycle while the man was crossing the intersection.
Police said the man, whose name and age also could not be verified, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
