Helms, Dorothy Jean 'Dot'
VINTON - Dorothy Jean “Dot” Helms, 79, of Vinton, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at her home in Vinton. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Blessed Hope Church in Vinton with Pastor Jim Blair officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, also at Blessed Hope Church. Private family committal services will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. It was Dorothy's wish to be cremated.
Dorothy is survived by three sons, Rick (Dyann) and Steven (Karen) Helms, both of Vinton, and David (Sally) Helms of Longmont, COLO.; three daughters, Connie Schlitter and Dawn (David) Stephenson, both of Vinton, and Brenda Coutts of Colorado Springs, COLO.; one sister, Shirley King of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren; one niece, Kathy (Kurt) Rickard; one nephew, Dane King; and her beloved puppy, Louie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Robert.
A memorial fund has been established.
