Inez K. Birkicht, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016. Inez donated her body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program for medical research. Her wishes were to have no services. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Inez was born Dec. 15, 1925, to William and Rosa Hupfeld, near Vinton, Iowa. She resided in Cedar Rapids for 70 years.
Inez was devoted to her family, friends and her flower and vegetable garden. Inez will be remembered for her affectionate touch, positive spirit and surprising sense of humor. She nurtured plants of all kinds.
Inez is survived by her daughters, Renee (Kurt) Schaeffer of Des Moines and Kimm Birkicht of Los Angeles; and her grandchildren, Joe and Lauren Schaeffer.
Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Birkicht, in 1993.
Inez will be remembered with tremendous love.
