As four-time state champions from 2002-05, Daniel LeClere and Jay Borschel each left an indelible mark on the North-Linn and Linn-Mar wrestling programs.
Now 10 years since they each collected their fourth state title, LeClere of North-Linn and Borschel of Linn-Mar were two of five honorees inducted into the 2015 Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame and served as Grand Marshals at this year's tournament.
LeClere graduated from North-Linn in 2005 as one of the most decorated wrestlers in program history with a 167-2 overall record. He left the school's most career wins, most takedowns and most state titles while earning 105 falls.
Initially red-shirting a season at Virginia Tech, LeClere transferred to Iowa where he compiled a 38-15 record and was a part of three NCAA and Big Ten team championships. He was a Midlands champion in 2008 and a two-time Fila Jr. Freestyle and University Freestyle winner.
Borschel's run to four titles has the distinction of being the largest span between weights of all four-time champions. He won titles at 103, 125, 152 and 171 pounds while earning a 163-1 overall record. The only loss of Borschel's high school career came at the Mississippi Valley Conference championship match his freshman year.
As a Co-Outstanding Wrestler at the state tournament and a USA Wrestling All-American, Borschel first attended Virginia Tech and red-shirted his freshman season in 2006 before transferring to Iowa. With the Hawkeyes, Borschel earned a 98-10 record as a part of the three NCAA and Big Ten championship teams.
