Stolba, Kurt Robert
Kurt Robert Stolba, 64, of Norway, Iowa, passed away Nov. 24, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Chaplain Joe Kane of Hospice of Mercy will officiate. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Andrea L. Stolba; his son, Matthew A. Stolba and wife Caroline of Frisco, Texas; his grandchildren, Evan and Isabella; his brothers, Kary K. Stolba and wife Teresa and Jay D. Stolba, both of Cedar Rapids; nieces, Kaitlin Stolba and Rachael Stolba; and one nephew, August Stolba.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kurt was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Vernon A. and Phyllis (Merrill) Stolba. He served his country honorably in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. On June 13, 1970, he was united in marriage to Andrea Leslie Means. Kurt was an asbestos worker with Local 81 Union. He enjoyed sky diving and above all his two beloved grandchildren.
He will forever be remembered for always lending a helping hand to those in need.
He will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations in Kurt's honor may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
