We cannot ignore climate change

To the editor:
It's encouraging to see more acceptance that climate change is happening. Not that we like it, but we need to know how we can deal with it, then the climate won't be as severe as if we ignored it.
I took a step to help by buying a car that used only half the gasoline as the one I had. I learned that electric cars use even less, but the price was a lot higher.
I'm relieved that my electric company is using wind power to meet most of my needs. I'll vote against our country placing pipelines in the ground to run gas and oil to its destinations. I'll vote to increase taxes on coal, oil and gas companies that do this as the fumes from these go up into the atmosphere and cause climate changes. I'm not happy to see them lose profits, but we need to change our ways so that the climate will be more normal again. When I need to replace my home and garage roofing, I will consider solar panels to get my heating costs down.
I hope these kind of measures help us all.
