Two morning kick offs have been set for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Here's the release:
NATIONAL AUDIENCE WILL VIEW IOWA AT NEBRASKA FOOTBALL
IOWA CITY, Iowa - - When the Iowa Hawkeyes travel to Nebraska for the final regular season football game of the 2011 season, the contest will be televised by ABC-TV to a national audience, with a start time of 11 a.m. CT. The announcement was made Wednesday by the Big Ten Conference. The contest at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln will be played on Friday, Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving.
Iowa's Oct. 22 homecoming matchup against Indiana will also begin at 11 a.m. (CT) inside Kinnick Stadium. Television information for the Indiana game has not yet been determined. The announcement for Iowa's homecoming contest was made as part of the Big Ten's release of start times for homecoming games for all Big Ten schools. Iowa is not the homecoming opponent in any of its four conference road games.
Iowa holds an all-time record of 53-41-5 in homecoming games, including an 8-5-1 mark against the Hoosiers.
It was announced earlier that Iowa's Oct. 15 home game against Northwestern will be a prime time event, beginning at 6 p.m. CT. That game will be televised by the Big Ten Network and marks Iowa's only evening game of the season.
Start times and television information for Iowa's remaining nine games has not yet been released. The Big Ten Conference is expected to announce start times for the first three weeks of the season in the near future.
The Hawkeyes open the season Sept. 3, hosting Tennessee Tech.
OK, that makes three game times set, including the Northwestern night game.
If you're keeping track at home . . .
09/03/11 -- Tennessee Tech -- TBA
09/10/11 -- at Iowa State -- (Probably 2:30, but TBA)
09/17/11 -- Pittsburgh -- TBA
09/24/11 -- Louisiana-Monroe -- TBA
10/01/11 -- Open -- Relax on sofa with the clicker
10/08/11 -- at Penn State -- TBA (Probably 11, definitely not at night)
10/15/11 -- Northwestern -- 6 p.m. BTN
10/22/11 -- Indiana -- 11 a.m. (TV TBA)
10/29/11 -- at Minnesota -- TBA
11/05/11 -- Michigan -- TBA
11/12/11 -- Michigan State -- TBA
11/19/11 -- at Purdue -- TBA
Fri. 11/25/11 -- at Nebraska -- 11 a.m.
Sat. 12/03/11 -- Big Ten Championship -- TBA
The ISU guess is based on Texas-BYU probably gathering 7 p.m. national consideration and the other Big 12 game being a dud, something like Baylor v. FCS.
I would've bet some sort of important piece of sports memorabilia on Iowa-Nebraska going at 2:30 and I would've said goodbye to my Darcy Rota signed Blackhawks jersey.
