Julie Ann (Jacobs) Stephen, 55, of Cedar Rapids, died April 20, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Julie was born Sept. 14, 1961, in Kirksville, Mo., the oldest child of Jack and Arlene (Bell) Jacobs. Julie was a renaissance woman of sorts; she had many talents and held many jobs in different fields. She was very compassionate; she loved to cook and to be with her family. She was an in-home care provider for the elderly, and they all adored her. She was a very awesome lady.
She is loved by many and will be missed by all.
Julie is survived by her mother, Arlene (Dennis) Berry; her father, Jack Jacobs; her fiance, Todd Stephen; her brother, Victor (Kelly) Jacobs, her son, Phillip Horak; her daughter, Megan Colehour (JA Voshell); stepchildren, Joshua and Amanda Stephen; stepbrother, Jamie (Mandy) Eastwood; her grandchildren, Hannah, Pierce, Mariah, Brady, Emma, Gracie, Hazel, Michael and Lukas; her grandpuppy, Trice; as well as her aunts, uncles and cousins.
Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Norma Bell and Pauline Coffin; her uncles, Gary, Jerry, Garry and Larry; and Todd's mother, Colleen Hernden.
