Karen K. Young Wohlers, 72, of Asbury, formerly of Dyersville, went home to be with
Jesus at 4:03 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Heritage Manor in Dubuque after her second bout with cancer. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville. Friends and relatives may continue to call after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Journey Assembly of God Church, 3939 Pennsylvania Ave., Dubuque, where a funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Bear Creek Cemetery in Brandon.
Karen was born May 15, 1942, in Garrison, Iowa, the daughter of Milvoy and Emma (Jesina) Kaufman. She married James A. Young on Oct. 7, 1961, at Assembly of God Church in Vinton. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1999. She married Donald R. Wohlers on Oct. 25, 2003, at Journey Assembly of God Church in Dubuque.
Karen is survived by her husband, Donald Wohlers; children of both marriages, Christine and Luke Wohlers of Dyersville, Margie (Kevin) Wheeler of Mosinee, Wis., Randy J. (Kathy) Young of Greeley and Cindy (Mike "Smiley") Kramer of Dyersville; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James A. Young; and a brother, Dave Kaufman.
