Glass, Thomas M. Sr.
Thomas M. Glass Sr., 71, of Delaware, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Memorial Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware by the Rev. Donald Krause. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Earlville and one hour before services Friday at the church in Delaware. Burial will be in the Pine View Cemetery, Delaware.
Tom was born June 14, 1941, in Monticello, the son of Ernest R. and Anna (McGlaughlin) Glass. On Oct. 12, 1959, Tom was united in marriage to Rosemary Payne. Tom was a hard worker, working as a farm hand, a milk hauler, at Hawkeye Castings and Ertl Toys, retiring after 18 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, tinkering in the garage, camping, and his golf cart. He was always giving of his time and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Delaware; six children, John (Barb) Glass of Earlville, Greg (Deanna) Glass of Marion, David Glass of Cedar Rapids, Kathy (Greg) Glass-Miller of Marion, Joseph Glass of Marengo and Timothy (Trish) Glass of Delaware; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Feltes.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Glass Jr.; and one sister, Delores Manson.
A memorial fund has been established in Tom's memory.
