Ackley
Georgia Jean Boger, 75, died Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Grand JiVante in Ackley. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Ackley with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ackley. Visitation will be from
5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.
Georgia was born March 25, 1941, in Ackley, Iowa, the daughter of Aiko and Martha (Ryks) Green. She went to country school in rural Ackley and was a 1959 graduate of the Ackley High School. On March 24, 1961, Georgia was united in marriage to Myron Boger at the Washington Reformed Church, Ackley. She had painted, papered, cleaned houses, was a bookkeeper and bartended. She was a lifetime member of the Ackley Saddle Club, treasurer of the Saddle Club and a member of the United Methodist Church in Ackley. She took care of her son, Greg, from 1988 to 1997.
Georgia is survived by her son, Jeff Boger of Ackley; a daughter, Deb Dutler of Iowa City; a granddaughter, DeAirra of Iowa City; and a great-granddaughter, Tehya of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myron; a son, Greg; and a brother, John Green.
