Marion Mayor Bouska lends a helping hand

I had heard that Marion Mayor Allen 'Snooks” Bouska was a nice and caring person. People of Marion had told stories of how he came to help them by shoveling snow, helping with leaf removal, having a cup of coffee at the local coffee shop and listening to the concerns of residents.
Then came my turn. Several years ago the city planted a tree in front of my house that grew like crazy, but it is a hard maple and it kills all of the grass under it.
It also has killed half of one side of my front lawn and nothing I have done helps. I have called the city for help many times with no reply.
So, I called the mayor's office, and the next day he was at my house to not only see what was going on but to lend a helping hand.
I wonder why the city does not replace the trees with a more friendly variety.
They are replacing trees downtown. Why won't they replace these that cause property damage and home value depreciation?
I do not understand a lot of what's going on in Marion, but I do know that Snooks cares and is willing to be a part of the solution to a happy hometown.
Thank you, Snooks.
