White, Rose B.
Rose B. White, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Colonial Manor of Amana Nursing Home, Amana. A funeral service celebrating Rose's life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky (Steve) Sandersfeld of Homestead; son, Ron (Karen) White of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William H. White Jr. in 2011; a sister and three brothers.
Rose B. Wharton was born June 26, 1927, in Ryan, Iowa, the daughter of John and Edna (Chapman) Wharton. On Oct. 26, 1942, she married William H. White Jr. in Lancaster, Mo.
Rose was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening in her younger years and also worked at Killian's department store during the Christmas season. She also donated many hours to the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop.
Much enjoyment came from the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Memorials may be sent in her name to the Colonial Manor in Amana or the Alzheimer's Association.
