White, Louise Gunn

Louise Gunn White, 78, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with our Lord March 9, 2012, surrounded by her family.

She was born October 12, 1933, in Bladen Springs, Ala.

She was loving and generous to her children, grandchildren and many friends. She will be greatly missed.

She began her career as a secretary at the Pentagon working for the Marines. She then went on to work in the restaurant business in the Cedar Rapids area where she had lived for the last 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Gunn; her husband, Richard A. White; her brothers, Luther, James, Richard, John and Willie; and sister, Mineola.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Gunn of Mississippi; her children, Kevin (Mary) White of Marion, Debbie (Perry) Smith, Cindy Volz, and David White, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Courtney Brewer, Corinne Krzywicki, Kayte Volz, Richard White, Ryan Smith, and Rachel White; and six great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her special friends Don, Georgene, Dorothy, JoAnn, Jeannie, and her beautiful cat, Gunner.

A memorial will be held at a later date for her family and friends.
