Blomme, Russell E.
Russell E. Blomme, 69, of Marengo, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his home following an extended illness. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Burial will be in Hartwick Cemetery, Hartwick, Iowa, with military honors. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; a son, Jon Blomme (Vicki) of Victor; a daughter, Stefani Vaverka (Jon) of Brooklyn; and a grandchild, Camiel Blomme.
Also surviving are a brother, Vernon (Mary Ellen) of Belle Plaine; a sister, Beverly Maschmann of Marengo; and special friends, Donna Poessel and family.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Emiel and Marie Steyaert Blomme; a grandson, Colton Blomme; three brothers Richard, Virgil and Howard; and a brother-in-law, Russell Maschmann.
