Bryant, Darrell D.
Darrell D. Bryant, 69, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at his home. Services: noon Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Northbrook Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David Miller and the Rev. Darin Ulmer. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. Interment: Campbell Cemetery, Bertram.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Hiawatha; mother, Viola Bryant of Bertram; three sons, James (Christine) Bryant of Cedar Rapids, Dave (Rita) Bryant of Cedar Rapids and Stephen (Heather) Bryant of Marion; 11 grandchildren, Ben, Jake, Emily, Sam, Lily, Eleanor, Curtis, Allison, Paige, Tai and Andy; and four siblings, Paul Bryant of Bertram, Wayne (Alice) Bryant of Brentwood, Tenn., Stephen (Angela) Bryant of Gulfport, Miss., and Shirley (Dan) Healy of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Uland.
Darrell was born Nov. 18, 1940, in Ada, Okla., to Uland and Viola (Rush) Bryant. He was married to Carol Hogan on July 3, 1965, at Immanual Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids. Darrell was a United States Air Force veteran. He was employed by Cedarapids Inc. for 45 years, retiring in 2007, as a lead man. Darrell was a member of Community Baptist Church and Northbrook Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids, where he served as a deacon.
A memorial fund has been established in Darrell's name.
