Rogers is best choice for Linn supervisor

Joel Miller is the wrong choice for the Linn County Board of Supervisors.

Miller stated he opposed the addition of more than 300 acres of land to Squaw Creek County Park made possible by the Supervisors' and Conservation Board's leadership and vision for the future of our county.

This park addition was made so existing quality timber resources and the Squaw Creek corridor could be protected. In addition, a large portion of this area will be converted to pollinator habitat we desperately need for all kinds of wildlife.

These lands were added using very little, if any, property tax dollars. Acquisition funds came from other funding available to the Conservation Board.

Miller said in a public meeting that he opposed and would vote against the Linn County Water and Land Legacy bond measure in 2016. Contrary to his position, the measure was passed by 74 percent of Linn County voters. Bond funds are designated for water quality and land protection, park improvements and trails. By their vote, voters emphatically said these things are important.

Miller appears to be out of touch with the quality of life measures that citizens' desire and need.

We need a proven leader with dedication to Linn County citizens. Please join me in voting for Ben Rogers for Linn County Supervisor in District 2. Ben is dedicated to serving Linn County residents on things that matter for improving our lives.
