McSweeny, Danny Alan
Danny Alan McSweeny, 50, of Delta Junction, Alaska, passed away April 19, 2011, in Delta Junction of natural causes.
Dan worked on the North Slope of Alaska and for several construction jobs. He retired for the Laborers' Union Local No. 942 and was currently employed in the Operators Union IUOE No. 302. He was a lifetime member of The NRA, as well as a member of the Moose Lodge 911, Sportsman's associations and Ducks Unlimited.
Dan is survived by his mother, Betty McSweeny of Shellsburg; sister, Diane Konichek and husband Kevin of North Pole, Alaska; brother; Don McSweeny of Fairbanks, Alaska; nieces, Casey Andrews and Carrie Konichek; nephews, Clyde and Cody Konichek; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Everette McSweeny; and younger brother, Dennis McSweeny.
Funeral Services were held in Delta Junction.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the following associations: Ducks Unlimited (1-800-45-DUCKS); or The NRAFoundation,11250 Waples Mill Rd., Fairfax, VA 22030.
Arrangements were entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home, Fairbanks, Alaska.
