Daniel Edward Flannery, 65, of Cosgrove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab in Coralville following a courageous battle with cancer. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cosgrove, with the Rev. Edmond Dunn officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lensing Funeral Home in Iowa City, where a vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Flannery Memorial Fund.
Dan was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on Aug. 14, 1949, the son of Robert and Maxine (Quinlan) Flannery. He was a lifetime resident of the Cosgrove/Oxford area. He was a longtime farmer and member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his brother, Dale (Kay) of Iowa City; two nephews, Patrick (Jessica) Flannery of Iowa City and Michael (Christy) Flannery of North Carolina; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
