Monte Morris will ponder NBA decision
Mar. 25, 2016 11:45 pm
CHICAGO — Iowa State's junior point guard Monte Morris has had the thought of playing in the NBA floating around in his head for quite awhile.
He isn't ready to make any decisions though.
'I'm going to soak this in, give it some time and when Coach (Prohm) is ready to meet with the players, we'll evaluate my season and see what my next step is going to be,' Morris said. 'If it's to the NBA I'll make that move, but if we get feedback and things like that, I wouldn't have a problem coming back my senior year.'
Prohm said he's giving the players time off until after the Final Four next weekend and said he'll sit down with Morris — and every ISU player — at that point and review the season.
With new NCAA rules that allow players to enter their name in the draft and work out in the combine and still return to school if they haven't signed with an agent, Morris said that is an avenue he would like to explore.

'I feel like everybody on our team should (take advantage of the new rule) because you've just got to get hot at the combine or at the draft,' Morris said. 'You get one workout with every team so I feel like it would be stupid not to.'
