Carver, Neil B.
Neil B. Carver, 64, of Center Point, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, of complications of cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point, with a vigil service and rosary at 3 p.m. Burial: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Marlene; four sons, Brad (Bobbie) Carver and Ryan Carver, all of Cedar Rapids, Jeff Carver of Arvada, Colo., and Dave (Laurie) Carver of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and one daughter, Shari Carver of Center Point.
He is also survived by his mother, Katherine Carver of Rowley; two sisters, Elaine (Larry) Ague of Rowley, and JoAnn Dillon of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and five brothers, Glenn Carver of Raytown, Mo., Duane Carver of Riverview, Fla., Larry (Julie) Carver of Walker, Wayne (Kathi) Carver of Independence, and Merlin (Lynn) Carver of Lawrence, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Carver.
He was born June 11, 1945, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Virgil Frederick and Katherine Margery (Chesmore) Carver. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in the 1960s. On July 5, 1975, he and the former Marlene Elizabeth Miller were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker. Mr. Carver was a worker at Ralston Foods in Cedar Rapids, for 35 years.
White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.
