Viola Lucille Randall, 75, of La Porte City, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at her home in her sleep.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at La Porte City Funeral Service. Visitation also will be held on Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids (520 Wilson Avenue SW) with a service at 2 p.m. Interment will be held in the Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Viola is survived by her husband, Raymond of La Porte City; 2 daughters, Rose (Karl) Adams of La Porte City, Mary Mincks of Marshalltown; 1 son, Phillip Randall of La Porte City; 8 grandchildren, Paul Adams of Waterloo, Shane Adams of Henderson, Nev., Amber Laws of La Porte City, Cpl. Darin Adams of Fairbank, Ark., Chad Fifield of Marshalltown, Chris (Megan) Fifield of Waterloo, Corey Fifield of Marshalltown, PV2 Nick Randall of Waterloo; 6 great-grandchildren, Brandon Laws, Lillian Laws, Lila Laws, Hannah Randall, Steven Randall and Dakota Fifield; 1 sister, Virginia Dillon of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Becky) Randall of Grundy Center, Robert Trumbull of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Patricia Randall of Cedar Rapids, Barbara Pierce of Anamosa, Florence Randall of Swisher, Janice (Ralph) Bentley of Vinton and Vivian Randall of Chandler, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Joyce Trumbull; 5 brothers-in-law, Larry, Jerry, Harry, Donald Randall, Jim Pierce and 1 sister-in-law, Betty McGrew.
She was born May 18, 1934 in Spencer the daughter of Herbert and Nellie Symington Will. She married Raymond Randall on October 11, 1952 in a private ceremony in Cedar Rapids. They moved to La Porte City in 1966.
