Reported missing earlier this week, Michael Graham of Coralville was found to be safe Wednesday morning by Omaha police.
Police there located him about 9:50 a.m. in a hotel room, according to North Liberty Police Chief Diane Venenga, whose department had been handling the case.
Graham was considered a missing person after his wife, Jill Graham, filed a report Monday with North Liberty police.
On Wednesday morning, Graham was with Omaha police officers, according a news release from the North Liberty Police Department. Nick Bergus, communications director for the city, said he does not know if Graham was questioned by officers there.
Graham's 2016 Volkswagen Jetta and cellphone also were located at the hotel, Venenga said in an email to The Gazette.
'He did not have injuries that required medical attention, but it is standard practice to seek medical attention in all welfare check cases if the victim consents,” she said.
Police previously said that according to family members, Graham sent text messages indicating he had been tied up and forced into the trunk of his car while working at 7 Hawkeye Drive in North Liberty. However, police said Tuesday evening they did not expect foul play in the disappearance.
Venenga said in the email that no charges are pending for Graham. In a statement, North Liberty police said that no abduction was reported by Michael Graham and with him safe, the investigation is over.
